Great North Swim 2016 · 10 June 2016 to 12 June 2016 ·
My sister & I are going to be swimming The Great North Swim together & hopefully raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity. This Charity have been amazing & helped my family & I through 2 Brain Tumour Surgeries. My first was at 26 years old & with a 7 month old baby girl at home, I knew there was only going to be one outcome. I'd beat it, no matter what...
Sadly, just 2.1/2 years later my consultants found a 2nd brain tumour. This one was a little bit more nasty. Again with my little girl Ava & now my baby boy Jenson at home I knew this fight was on. With the amazing support from my family, my husband & truly great friends I knew I had all the backing I needed. Although recovery was hard & having the struggles of learning to walk again I achieved every goal I had set. Swimming has been great for my recoveries & it's something my sister's & I have been brought up to love.
Like most things that are set to test us, sadly I was dignosed in late 2015 with a terminal illness that will stay with me till my time is up on this planet. My body will continue to grow Tumours throughout, & eventually I won't win these battles. I'm 32 years old now, I have a beautiful Little lady Ava aged 6 & my Tiny Chap Jenson aged 3. Nothing will stop me living everyday to the full with them. Like all parents will agree, they are my world.
Swimming the Great North Swim is a dream come true & defiantly one I'll be ticking off my bucket list 👍🏻.
