Story
I didn’t think I’d be crazy enough to want to do another ultra, especially as the last one left me unable to wear shoes for weeks because of the blisters, but sharing my adventure with Ian (my father in law) and him making fun of me for ‘how slow’ I was made me think it would be the perfect thing to do to remember him and raise money for the brilliant Macmillan team that supported him and the whole family over the past year.
As most of you know Ian passed away just after Christmas after a very dignified fight with cancer. The Macmillan team went above and beyond even after Ian passed away for the family and we couldn’t be more greatful. It felt right to give something back and say thank you. So when I’m trudging in the dark, feeling the blister burst and the toe nails be ripped off I hope I can summon some of the strength Ian showed and remember some very happy time. Ian, this one is for you!
