Sean's Grand Union Canal Bug Out

Grand Union bug out walk · 17 February 2016
Since being Diagnosed with Colitis in 2009 it has affected my health and has changed my day to day lifestyle, career and almost took my life.
In March 2015 I was admitted into hospital and had life saving major surgery where 90% of my large intestine (colon) was removed.
A year later I am awaiting reconstructive surgery where I will have another operation. If successful, will be given a fighting chance of living a more stable life again.
To bring awareness of these diseases which have no complete cure yet please show your support and sponser the cause to help raise money for Crohns and Colitis UK.
My 1st challenge is a 155 mile trek over 3 nights and 4 days from Birmingham New Street to Mile End, London along the Grand Union Canal.
Sleeping in a tent at checkpoints covering a distance of between 35 to 50 miles per day. I will be carrying a back pack of basic survival equipment to see me through the journey.
My progress will be tracked. Logged. And frequent pictures and videos will be uploaded online of the journey south from the West Midlands.
I leave for Birmingham 18/04/2016
Further details and updates will follow soon.....
