Marathons and Ironman for Prostate Cancer Research

London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page!
Prostate Cancer Research are dedicated to creating brand new prostate cancer treatments. Prostate cancer is now the most diagnosed cancer in the UK and 11,500 men die from the disease every year.
People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments, and research is the only way to turn this hope into reality.
Their vision is clear; a world where people are free from the impact of prostate cancer. I’m part of #TeamPCR because I share this vision. Will you help me support their research?
What I'm doing:
I'm taking on a number of challenging events in 2023 to raise both awareness and money for Prostate Cancer UK.
I'll post regularly to social media and send updates of my training to show you the pain I'm going through for your pleasure and support.
A bit of context;
I did my first events in 2022: Swansea Tough Run 10k, Swansea 10k and Cardiff Half Marathon. I've never run over half marathon distance, I've never done a triathlon, I haven't ridden a bike in 15 years, I don't currently own one and in my mother's words "what are you thinking? you can't even swim!" I can swim a little and have had lessons this year in preparation to take this on.
The Events I'm doing and times I'm aiming for:
April 23rd - London Marathon - 3:30 hours
May 10th - Swansea Tough Runner - 45 minutes (2022 time - 49:50)
May 28th - Swansea Triathlon - 1:20 hours
July 15th - Swansea Ironman 70.3 - 6 hours
Any support you're able to give would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
