Great North Run 2022 · 11 September 2022 ·

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 11th of September this year, I will be taking part in the Great North Run on behalf of Parkinson's UK. Parkinson's UK is very close to my families heart, my late Grandad lived with the disease throughout the final years of his life. Like me he had a fondness for running and all things outdoors, Parkinson's impacted on his freedom to enjoy these activities.

Parkinson's is a disease that develops over time and can result in Tremors, Gait and balance problems amongst other issues. Ultimately this severely impacts on the individuals quality of life, and a large amount of care and dedication is required from friends, families and medical professionals.

By raising money for Parkinson's more research can be undertaken to identify the potential causes, and provide treatment to future patients.
