Story
I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in September 2019. In some ways, the diagnosis was a relief - it explained a lot.
At the time, I was somewhat overweight and definitely unfit. Having been told by the specialists that the only thing I could do to help myself was lose weight, keep moving and get fit, I decided to start running. Starting with the NHS Couch-to-5K app, I kept wondering if I could “go a bit further”, and I did!
Three pairs of shoes and many kilometres later, I am still going, both fortunate and thankful that I can do so, albeit I have had the occasional mishap along the way.
I complete a half marathon distance on most weekends now as my ‘long run’.
I want to attempt a marathon to see if I can “go a bit further”.
Brad (my son), Matt and Mark (both clients and friends) are joining me on this adventure - We want to contribute to the lives of others with Parkinson’s while we’re about it and have joined up with Parkinson’s UK to raise funds for their incredible work.
I think it might be a bit of a challenge, but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained!
If you're able, we will gratefully receive any donation you might make!!!!
