It’s been a rough year for everyone and this is my opportunity to give Woking & Sam Beare Hospice a much needed injection of funds to allow them to continue their hard work. Woking & Sam Beare Hospice and Wellbeing Care is a patient-led charity that delivers specialist palliative care to people who have advanced life-limiting conditions, as well as supporting their carers and families.

Each year we care for around 2,000 patients, their carers and families. Over 70% of our care is delivered across Surrey in the community as well as within the hospice itself.

The team consists of a mix of CNSs, with the support of Palliative Care Consultants, split across two sites in order to cover the communities across the North West Surrey area. They work alongside GP’s and District Nurses to ensure seamless care in the community. They visit any care setting, in patient homes, or a nursing or care home, and they accept referrals based on need rather than diagnosis. They visit patients seven days a week and to support this the hospice provides a 24 hour advice line.
