Great North Run 2016 · 11 September 2016 ·
Hi there come September 11 i will be participating in the GNR 2016 for the very first time for a great cause in Tiny Lives whom i owe absolute everything to for playing a massive part in saving our twins lives.
Tommy (1lb 14)and Bobby(2lb 1) were born extremely prematurely on 6/12/15 at 25 weeks and 6 days at James Cook hospital in Middlesbrough as there was no room at the RVI and admitted to intensive care where they were incubated and put on life support, they remained in Middlesbrough until there were 2 beds available at the RVI which wasn't until 14/01/16.
On 29/2/16 Tommy was discharged from the RVI and allowed home but had to wait until 5/3/16 to be reunited with Bobby, both boys were discharged with oxygen which Tommy no longer needs and Bobby only through the night.
Tommy and Bobby were very lucky to survive but some others we were in with not so fortunate, they have since been admitted back to hospital for surgery Tommy for a hernia and Bobby eyes but nothing too serious, it has been an emotional roller coaster for our family which also torn us apart from our 2 daughters especially while we were staying in Middlesbrough.
This was the toughest experience of our lives but would be a lot worse if it wasn't for Tiny Lives and mostly everyone's donations that kept our boys alive so it would be greatly appreciated and kind of you if you could donate to this great cause because one day you might need Tiny Lives. X
