We help deaf children to learn to listen and talk.

Story

“We thought that he would never be able to speak to us... Nor, more importantly, would he ever be able to hear us tell him we love him.” Parent of profoundly deaf little boy.The Elizabeth Foundation (TEF) helps deaf babies and pre school children learn to listen and speak. We are there to support and inform families from the moment their child is diagnosed with any degree of hearing loss. This year over 80 babies, toddlers and pre-school children will attend specialist education programmes and get individual speech and language therapy

We are by no means the keen runners you may find running after work or lunch or in the morning! A quick Comment of should we turned into Oh we signed up!

Shaz Whelts and I are between us running 52k! - 2 half marathons and a 10k!  - I think if you had told any of us at the start of the year we would be doing this we would of responded - No Thank you!  Here we are though with only 2 months training taking on what will be a huge challenge for us all! Can I add again we are not runners : )

Working at Specsavers and having supported the Elizabeth foundation it felt the right thing to do was not just run but lets try and raise some money too!

Please help by donating whatever you can and Thank you!

About the charity

The Elizabeth Foundation is a Family Centre with baby, toddler and pre-school sessions for deaf children and their families. We follow the 'Multi Sensory Oral Approach', to develop speech, language and listening skills by using all of the child's senses in a natural, fun, child-centred environment.
