Story
As you may know, In 2007, we lost my elder sister, Jill, to bone cancer. At the time, I wanted to do something to raise money for research, in her memory; but it never quite happened. Then, in 2009, Mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer. The whole family had a horrible sense of deja-vu - but I'm delighted to say, she bounced back and is still bouncing - at the age of eighty-four! One reason she survived was improved diagnostic techniques thanks to research - so again I wanted to do something to help - this time to celebrate; but again, life got in the way. Finally, a month ago, everything came together and I made up my mind: Seven years ago, I shed three stone in weight - and since then I've been trying to get rid of the last unwanted stone - with varying degrees of lack of success! So on the spur of the moment, I decided to turn the weight into cash for this cause about which I feel so passionately. I set myself a target - fourteen pounds in fourteen weeks, finishing (coincidentally) on 14th August. I have to say, I'm already nearly halfway there! I also set myself a fundraising target - £200.00. I'm nowhere near halfway towards that yet - but I'll get there - especially if you can help!
