In 2011 I went to Lesotho for the first time with Kick4Life - a registered charity who uses the power of Football and Sport to inspire, unite and make a difference to some of the most disadvantaged children in the world.

Whilst there, I realised that there is so much we take for granted living in a privileged part of the world. The country, the people and what we did really moved me and have wanted to go back ever since. I'm planning to go back this year :) and need to raise money to get there. 

To help reach my goal, I've pledged that instead of giving up chocolate for lent I'd sacrifice my love for shoes so that others can benefit in a life changing way (instead of my waist line). This way, I'm doing something that actually makes a difference to those less fortunate than me. A small sacrifice to make, whilst doing some good...

This page however, isn't about me... I want you to get involved and join me in giving up one of your indulgences to help someone else get a better life. Now whilst you should want to do this without thinking about 'what's in it for me'... I realise that sacrifice for some is a big ask SO, I've decided that if you make a pledge (min £20 and can be more than once), I’ll put you in my little prize draw to win cash to go towards a designer pair of shoes worth £300.

What’s the catch?

I will only do this if I beat my target and reach £4,000 by the end of August.

How?

Well, it's simple... each time you feel the urge to buy something you don't need (be it that 3rd bottle of wine, those red shoes that you just wont wear, the new Nikes in town or watever) make a donation here and ensure you tick the box that allows me to contact you.

At the end of August (if I smash my target) I’ll put everyone who has made a contribution into a random draw – announcing the winner via Twitter. I’ll count every single time you’ve made a sacrifice as long as you follow the rules.
