Event: Ollie Taylor
We provide intensive physiotherapy to help to disabled children reach their potential

Story

Ollie was born on New Year’s Eve 2008 2 days later he was diagnosed with Wolf Hirschhorn syndrom, a rare genetic condition causing complex special needs including hypotonia (low muscle tone) Global developmental delay and a number of medical problems.

Ollie's prognosis was not good at all but fortunately he is a very determined little boy and despite the odds has reached 5 years of age.

He is delightful and happy but works hard to get stronger.  We discovered Footsteps and spider therapy and it changed Ollie’s opportunities. Each visit has brought new capabilities.

After his first visit at age 3 he learned to support his own head, the next visit he learnt to stay in a sitting position - the first time he saw the world as an upright being. Then he learnt to commando crawl at 4 and he is now working on standing. The therapy has helped his cognitive skills enabling him to understand communication and process the information and translate into body movements this used to take a long time for each action even swallowing. Now Ollie responds to communication in real time.

Footsteps therapy is life changing for Ollie and the whole family. It has expanded the possibilities for his way of life and independence bringing with it great hope.

The Footsteps foundation gives funding for  children to access to spider therapy unavailable on the NHS.
