Story
Update:
Hi all, unfortunately I had some horrible news this week in that I’ve got to have an operation in the beginning of May and I’ve been told I can’t run on Sunday.
This is absolutely devastating as I’d been putting in so much to the training and I was so excited for the big day and to make my mum proud.
Luckily Macmillan have been kind enough to allow me to defer to the London marathon 2024, so all these donations will remain in this account until then.
I’d just like to thank everyone for all the donations I’ve received so far - it’s meant so much.
Here’s to 2024…!
Hey guys!
So here we are. London marathon 2023. Who’d have thought it?
Many of you will know why I’m running it, but I just wanted to give a little explanation anyway. In 2013, my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. I remember my dad sitting me down, and telling me that not only was she sick again, it was stage 4. Our world turned upside down. I try not to remember the months that passed, and how tough they were, but on the 4th June 2014 I was by her side when she passed away. I hope that everyone can see that her memory lives on through me, and that’s why I’ve set myself this challenge. I want to make her proud, and raise as much as I can for this amazing charity, no matter how hard it’s going to be.
Just know that any donation you can make, big or small, is going to make a difference.
I know it’s not going to be easy, and if anyone wants to join in on the highs and lows of the training ahead, give @sienasmarathonjourney a follow on insta, I’ll make sure to keep you updated.
Love, Siena x
