9 Lakes in 9 Hours · 17 September 2010
"It's like, Comic Relief, yeah? I'm out here in Africa and I'm seeing the flies and the starvation... and she - if she is the boss - she's in the studio with, you know, Jonathan Ross and Lenny Henry - and they've got their suits on. They're doing their bit, they're counting the money. Good luck to them. But, their hands are clean, while I'm down here in the office with the little starving kids..."
I'm going to be doing a David Brent and will be getting my hands dirty for charity (the charity is in the UK though). My company is shelling out for us to take part in the 9 lakes challenge in September and I've decided that trekking up a mountain in the rain will be more fun than sitting in Romford.
Therefore, any donations would be appreciated. Anyone donating less than 3 figures had better be living on the street.
Anyways, here's some more info on the event:
HSE Group Ltd (www.hsegroupuk.com) are involved with a charity challenge on the 16th, 17th & 18th September 2010

Challenge 2: A challenging mixture of uphill/downhill/tarmac and off road Mountain Biking from Wyvale (the western adge of Helvellyn) to the western edge of Lake Windermere

The charity that we're raising for is: Saint Francis Hospice
Saint Francis Hospice is a centre of excellence in the care of those with life limiting illnesses.
Most of the people they care for like to stay in their own homes, therefore they provide support that allows them to do that. At times when this is not possible or when patients prefer the comfort of being in a clinical environment, Saint Francis bring them into there hospice for specialist care and control of symptoms; over half of these patients are able to return home again.
Their teams provide care in the home, inpatient care at the hospice, day care at there centre together with a full range of therapies and treatments. This care extends beyond physical treatment of symptoms; they consider the emotional, psychological, spiritual and social needs of their patients, their families, children and carers.
Please donate as much as you can. This is going to be a tough event for a great cause.
Stay safe San Diego.
