Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Aston Villa Foundation Dementia Café is a great help and support to people who have Dementia and also their carers.

Dementia and Alzheimers have affected some loved family members and several friends.

I have witnessed first-hand the sad decline of loved ones who have had Dementia and Alzheimers.  It is so sad to see them confused, stressed and upset and sometimes forget who they are and who their family and friends are.  Years of history wiped from a person's memory is often very traumatic for them.

As well as the person themselves, I have also seen the stress and upset that it causes to their carers who are often close members of the family.  Watching on and seeing the decline in your loved one is heart breaking.

On the 26th- 28th September 2022 over a period of 24 hours (split over the 3 days) I will be taking on the epic challenge on my own of speed sitting in every seat at Villa Park, the home of Aston Villa FC, 42,785 seats in total.

I am a huge fan and season ticket holder of Aston Villa so this challenge has a personal touch to it also.  The view of looking out on to this iconic stadium will help me through the raging burn of fatigue in my lower limbs while I work my way through each seat.
