Story
Kevin Schofield passed away on the 22nd February 2017 – news that came as a great shock and huge sadness to all who knew him.
Kevin was many things to many people; a trusted friend, a respected colleague and a valued mentor. First and foremost, however, Kevin was a much-loved family man. He leaves behind his wife Louise, their two girls and his elder son.
The time between the initial diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and his subsequent death from the disease that had spread to his liver was measured in weeks.
When referring to people who have been taken by cancer, it is not uncommon to hear that they somehow lost the fight. Well, when Kevin learnt that he was terminally ill he lived his final weeks in just the way that those of us who know and love him would expect. He lived them with dignity, grace, humour and a real sensitivity to the needs of others.
In remembering Kevin we can celebrate a true gentleman who loved life and lived it well. We are inviting donations to the charity Macmillan Cancer Support who provided such valuable care to Kevin when he needed it most.
