I have been involved with the Theatre Royal for many years and have previously undertaken two long distance endurance walks to raise money for its vital work. This is a very different challenge: a shorter distance but over a much more concentrated time span. 78 miles in 3 days: the equivalent of 3 marathons in 3 days. The walk aims to raise £10,000 in support of the Theatre which throughout its 200 year history has always relied on public good will and support.  Each year the Theatre has to raise at least £190,000 to help ensure the doors are open to welcome, entertain and engage some 90,000 visitors as well as maintain its crucial outreach work, which is so important to take the performing arts to an audience which may otherwise never experience live theatre.
