Story

Ed Turner was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in late 2020, a few weeks after his 16th birthday. Over the following two years he underwent multiple courses of treatment at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital, including two stem cell transplants. For much of that time, there was real hope that he would beat the disease. Sadly, despite a courageous fight, Ed passed away in December 2022. He was an avid football fan and we are holding a fundraising event which remembers that. Between 6-8 May 2023, Ed’s family and friends will walk between football stadiums in Birmingham, Solihull and the Black Country. Anyone who wishes to join us on the walk will be very welcome. If you would like further details on the walk please email WalkingforEd@outlook.com. All donations for this event will go to Cure Leukaemia, a charity that makes new treatments available to those suffering from the disease. Please help us to stop others from walking the path that Ed had to walk.
