Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby. Our vision is that through the power of rugby every child and young person across the UK & Ireland, no matter what their background has access to the same opportunities.

Story

Simon Viney epitomised a 'rugby players player' constantly at training, constantly demanding more game time, oh and yes, constantly appearing just outside wingers whilst playing touch for that ever elusive scoring pass! One of Simon's great qualities was his ability to join all and sundry in the bar talk after the game, 'what could we have done better?', 'what should we do about it next week?, oh and yes, 'see you at training.'

Simon committed himself to the game and Barns Green Rugby Club and it is most fitting that his family have requested that his memory be treasured by by supporting The Wooden Spoon, a rugby based charity.

This year one of the Spoon's focus areas is to raise some £38,000 for the QE2 School in Horsham-this money will deliver a new hoist to assist the transportation of children from the changing area to the swimming pool in addition to the enhancement of the music facilities.

'Simon's Fund' is a focus for Barns Green Rugby Club-all the money raised will go straight to the QE2 project via The Wooden Spoon.

We would like to thank you for your help and assistance.
