We did it! Yesterday was a truely great experience for both of us and we really enjoyed taking part in such a truely amazing sporting event. It was a shame we had to start in different places so didn't see each other throughout the race, as it turned out it probably wasn't a bad thing! Lucy managed to achieve her target and break the 4 hour barrier by finishing in 3hr 53.39. This meant she was 9072 overall, the1556 lady to finish and 209th in the ladies age group! There is definite talk of retirement now. Simon was on target to finishing close to 4 hrs but got a severe cramp attack towards the end and did really well to finish in such a good time. He finished 14,682 overall, 11,707 man to finish and 1629 in his male age group. He feels he definitely has a sub 4 hr marathon in him so is planning to give it another go!
