Story
Did you know that 1 in 8 men in the UK will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime? But I shouldn't worry as it's other people who get cancer, isn't it? Well, actually, it isn't.
My dad died with (not of) prostate cancer, so I started having PSA tests around 5 years ago. Everything was satisfactory until my last test in late 2025, which showed some abnormalities. I’ve subsequently been on a rollercoaster of scans, biopsies and hospital appointments, and it has now been confirmed that I do indeed have prostate cancer. The positive news for me is that it’s been caught early, and there are clear treatment options ahead.
I’m taking on the Walk 100 Miles in May challenge for PCR to help make a difference to men and their families who have been affected by prostate cancer. Please support me during this challenge by donating what you can to Prostate Cancer Research. Every donation you make helps advance our mission to create a world free from the impact of prostate cancer. Thank you for your support! 💙🧡
And my advice to all men (50+) is that getting tested is not a “one and done” occurrence - GET TESTED REGULARLY!
