Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The reason for doing this half marathon is the treatment and care provided by The Christie for my brother in laws cancer treatment was outstanding.
Robs story...... In June 2019 Rob was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer. After further tests, cancer was found in the liver and lungs. Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy were started for the Bowel cancer. The treatment was unsuccessful so The Christie offered Rob a trial drug which he accepted and along with three major operations, Rob was given the all clear in April 2022. Since getting the all clear Rob has had a little set back with small specs showing on his lung which are being monitored before a course of treatment can be agreed.
Another round of chemotherapy has now started at the beginning of 2024 with good days and bad he continues the fight to keep it under control.
The fight continues but we will beat this together.
I have no doubt that we all have family and friends that have been affected by this horrible disease but we must continue to support the incredible work The Christie do for cancer.
I for one will now continue to raise money for this charity in aid of "The best and Bravest man " i know and have entered again for 2025. A very hard slog for the next 11 months is ahead for me as I push on and continue to raise further funds for such an important charity. If you can donate no matter how big or small, every little helps.
