Raising funds for our Annual Winter Appeal, which aims to help vulnerable refugee and asylum seeking individuals & families living in poverty in Glasgow and make the lonely Winter period more bearable

Story

More and more people have been fleeing Ukraine, leaving all their life behind not knowing if they will ever be able to go back to the place they used to call home.

For the next 4 months I will be walking/cycling 1430 miles, which is the distance between London and Kyiv. It works out at roughly 90 miles per week. With a full time job and a family to care for, it will be a challenge for me but I’ve given myself a realist deadline to  make sure I will complete the miles in full.

Room for Refugees is part of the Positive Action in Housing. They are a refugee homelessness charity based in Scotland, which  help people rebuild their lives and build positive futures through advice/information, an Emergency Relief Fund and refugee hosting. To date they have sheltered 4K refugees with 12K fully registered hosts and is assisting Ukrainian and other refugees to find homes.

£6 pays for two small meals and essential bus travel of one destitute person for one day. UK taxpayers please tick ‘Gift Aid’ to add 25% to your donation.

Thank you so much for all your donations
