Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

Sense is here to support disabled people from the first weeks of life through all the major milestones of adulthood. Over 70 years, we’ve built extensive knowledge and expertise in supporting disabled people with complex needs, including deafblind people.

Story

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for visiting our fund-raising page.

We decided to run the marathon after our friend Donna Newton died in a tragic diving accident in the Galapagos last year.  Donna was an instructor at Blue Marlin Dive and became a good friend during her time on Gili Trawangan.

Donna was a keen runner and had planned to run the 2010 Marathon for Sense.  We decided that we would run the marathon in Donna's memory and raise money for the charity that she had chosen to support.

Sense is a charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deaf and blind.  They provide expert advice and information as well as specialist services to deaf and blind people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them. They also support people who have sensory impairments with additional disabilities.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please help us to raise our target for the marathon.

Many Thanks

Simon and Clive
