I have decided to run a half marathon for the cause which is closest to my heart- Bone Cancer Research. I wish to raise not only money but also awareness of the disease Osteosarcoma, which is the most common type of primary bone cancer. For an unscientific individual, such as myself, there is little I can do in terms of coming up with a cure BUT I CAN draw attention to the fabulous work that the Bone Cancer Research team can do for those suffering with the disease.

Losing someone so close is painful for everyone, it taught me to treasure those memories and fight for a cause. My cause is to raise as much money and awareness as I possibly can for Bone Cancer Research; in the expectation that with further scientific developments I can be part of a generation people who took a step forward towards hope. Hope for a cure, hope for keeping families together and hope for the future.

I have been in training since September for this half marathon. It has been a huge personal battle as everything about me suggests that I was not made for running! However the race is drawing closer (May 8^th 2011) and I am growing in confidence with each run. My target is to run the 13miles in approximately 2hours- this would be an amazing personal achievement. I would greatly appreciate any and every donation that you could afford to give. It all goes to a fantastic cause.

Ella is my inspiration and every run and her memories are a reminder of what I am striving towards- my cause.
