Burma Voluntary Dental Mission · 4 March 2017

Our purpose is to encourge dentists to volunteer short periods of time to provide dentistry to the poor and disadvantaged in Burma, in particular around Lake Inle. There is no access to dentistry and oral neglect is rife. We need to educate and treat the 200,000 people living on the Lake.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I know there are so many worthy causes that constantly vie for our attention and usually I am not one to want to add to the list but this cause has many tentacles  and really struck a chord with me.

In March 2017, myself and a colleague  will be spending 8 days in a remote part of Myanmar ( Burma) where we hope to help many hundreds of children, many orphans who have  extremely poor teeth, often suffering with multiple abscesses and pain.

Burma has extremely poor dental provision . There is no oral health education and many are unable to afford or access basic dental treatment. There is rampant tooth decay due to poor oral habits and diet. We aim to provide a free service to those people who need it through the very worthwhile work of the Burmadent charity.

Being a mother, the plight of young children, especially orphans has been pulling at my heart strings for some time now. I really feel that   now is the time for me to do something about it and that this trip will be life changing.

Though I am  privileged to be able to offer some hands on and physical help to those  in need,  this whole project would not be possible without the huge support from all those close to me- Family, friends, patients and businesses.

No donation is too small and it will be immediately put to good use out there.

Thank you so much in advance- I mean it!
