Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit The Snailwalkers JustGiving page.

The Snailwalkers are made up of 6 friends & colleagues (4 walkers & 2 support crew) from NatWest with a good blend of youth and enthusiasm mixed with age & injury! The team are now training to complete the gruelling 100km / 24 hr Trailwalker event on the beautiful South Downs. The event tests your emotions, mental state and fitness to the limits where teamwork is absolutely vital to completing this massive challenge.

Meet the team:

Graeme Coles - 46 (closer to 47!) Team Captain and competing in his third consecutive & possibly his last Trailwalker. Graeme continues to study Taekwondo, play rugby & get injured too often!! In preparation for this years event, Graeme will be completing 2 Marathons in May & June.

Jason Connolly - 37. Was going to compete last year but snapped his Achilles and had to withdraw but still was valuable member of support crew for Graeme and his team. This will be a massive test however this stubborn football fanatic will certainly be there at the end. Fantastic competitor who will just grind it out.

Charlotte Borg - 27. The youngest, fittest and most glamorous of the team, looking to build on her recent half marathon success. Charlotte is determined to succeed, fitting in training around a busy social diary and extreme holiday commitments.

Graham Chaston - 41. After completing the Race to the Stones last year, this event takes endurance to another level. Apart from raising money and getting fit, the most important reason Graham is entering this year's event is lose weight in time for his summer holiday!

The Snails  could not do the event without our 2 fabulous support crew:

Richard Stacey (Support Crew) - Richard completed his first Trailwalker in 2016 and despite how hard it was loved the event so much he agreed to supply that much needed support The Snails. His knowledge of the event will be invaluable to the team.

Chris Wright (Support Crew) - Chris has very kindly agreed to do the support crew nightshift. This will be his first Trailwalker event and The Snails are all looking forward to seeing his cheery little face at 3am in the morning!!

We are competing to raise valuable funds for both Oxfam and the Gurkha Welfare Trust and do fantastic job supporting those that are less fortunate than ourselves. Any size donation will help us struggle through this extreme event at our time of need, which there will be many!
