Hi everyone,

As most of you may know, I have worked for Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust for just over 2 years now and adore my job. I work in surgical oncology (Cancer Surgery) and specialise in thoracics (Lungs). Every day I see how important early detection of cancer is and how innovative treatment can change lives. 

I've also seen the negative impacts on people who haven't been afforded that luxury and I'm sure every single person reading this will have lost a loved one to cancer. Sadly, my close friend James' brother - John Mangan - has recently been diagnosed with incurable lung cancer and therefore, I have chosen to dedicate this fundraiser to him. On the 10th September 2021, I will be abseiling from the top of St Thomas' hospital in John's name to raise money for Guy's Cancer.
