Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On July 27th, 2019, I will be completing my First London Triathlon. I have been looking to set myself a challenge and raise money to help somebody in need while doing so, finally in January 2019, I decided to sign up to complete the London triathlon!

I am trying to raise money for a fantastic charity named F.A.B.L.E (For A Better Life With Epilepsy). I found out about this charity through a good friend of mine who is in contact with a little girl called Penelope, who suffers with severe epilepsy. At the age of just 6 months old, Penelope was diagnosed with epilepsy, she was given a medication, which everybody was hopeful that it would cure or at least control her condition. However, unfortunately since then it has only got worse, and Penelope has gone from having 10-minute seizures every three days, to sometimes having over forty seizures per day. The seizures which used to be 10 minutes, have deteriorated  and can now be going on for over an hour. Penelope, along with her parents and family have spent nights in hospitals, nights in intensive care, completed brain scans, blood tests and even being kept alive by a ventilator as her body is so exhausted from the seizures that it has stopped her from breathing. As you can imagine, this is a really unsettling situation for Penelope parents to be in, and the pressure and worry that they feel constantly every single day causes them to feel that it is impossible to ever feel normal or be able to do normal everyday things.

Epilepsy is something close to my heart due to suffering with it as a child. Growing up, i felt i was very unlucky, and as if i was the only person to every suffer with epilepsy, as i know the feeling of having epileptic seizures was really not nice for me as a child. Luckily, my epilepsy stopped as i became a teenager, which i feel so grateful for. I can't explain now, how much it would mean to me knowing that i have helped someone who suffers 100 times worse than i did.

All your donations towards the F.A.B.L.E charity will be used on any equipment of assistance to help Penelope and her family live a better life. Your donations will make a massive difference to this charity and of course little Penelope. Please support me and my efforts in supporting this fantastic cause and together we can change peoples lives.

Thank you so much
