I am running the Vienna Marathon on Sunday 24  April in memory of Shazia Calvert-Davies who brought laughter and love every day to my brother and who gave us two bright and talented nephews. Shazia was stunning, sophisticated and full of life and  she fought her cancer for nearly 4 years with stoicism and inspiring bravery .  She endured numerous infections in hospital, weekly chemotherapy and because of Covid had to isolate herself from family and friends. Shazia felt very strongly about how more could be done to improve the lives of those with Stage 4 Cancer and all the proceeds from her book and all donations from her funeral were given to the Institute of Cancer Research.  

If you know me , you know that I have always enjoyed running  and I have run two marathons already but they are hard events.  In the last two years I have struggled to run due to an  injury but knowing that I can run this marathon for Shazia has inspired me throughout my training.   Thank you for any contribution that you feel able to donate.
