Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity

We provide support services and work to reduce the number of baby deaths

Charity Registration No. 299679 & SC042789

Sands the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity is divided into a nationwide network of local support groups run by bereaved parents to support anyone affected by the death of a baby in their area.  This page is to raise funds specifically for South East London Sands.  We primarily support those who have lost babies at St. Thomas's, King's College, PRUH and Lewisham hospitals and/or live within south east London.

The impact of a baby's death is underestimated by anyone who has never experienced it.  For this reason our aim is to offer the empathic support that most bereaved parents find invaluable.   We provide one-to-one and group support at all stages of the grieving process, memory boxes for recently bereaved families and training for professionals to ensure high quality bereavement care within our area.

The work of the group is totally self funded and carried out by volunteers.  We are always grateful for donations which are used to fund our work and we thank you for considering our charity worthy of your donation.

If you wish to do your own fundraising challenge please email to discuss a suitable project for you to raise funds towards, and to help you set up your own Just Giving page.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Sands will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.  Gift Aid is retained by UK Sands towards their national work.

Many thanks for your support.
