Story

URGENT APPEAL – Families Relief needs to raise £350K urgently to provide Beit Hanoun Hospital with a much needed modern operating theatre, gynaecology (maternity) unit and new ward to take care of the out-patient needs, such as kidney dialysis and baby clinic and the many injured casualties that attend daily.

Beit Hanoun Hospital caters for over 20% of the population which is currently over 270,000. The hospital is situated 10km from the border and is constantly overrun, especially during attacks and border closures. As Beit Hanoun is close to the border, it comes first for emergencies and is dreadfully under-equipped to cope with the vast number of casualties it receives and as a result the severely injured have to take a treacherous journey to other cities resulting in risk of death on arrival, in most cases.

Beit Hanoun hospital is currently in desperate need of a vital extension to its building, beds and its medical supplies to manage with the casualties it receives on a daily basis.
