Splash Stars is raising money for Millie's trust in our lifesaving PJ week, all classes will swim in their PJs and donate money to Millie's Trust by donating money or getting sponsorship to swim in their Pj's.

All our Splash Stars' learn vital lifesaving skills in every lesson, this week gives you and your children the chance to see and feel how different it is to be in the water fully clothed, by wearing our pajamas children will gain a vital awareness! The lessons will focus on lifesaving skills and be lots of fun!

Splash Stars is a fun, focused progressive swimming class for children age birth – 11 years across areas such as Bolton, Prestwich, Moston and Bromley cross.
Our classes are jam packed with life-saving skills from as young as a few weeks, so that should your child ever need them, they will know exactly what to do. Each class lasts half an hour and provides a wonderful bonding opportunity for parents and children, as well as being jam packed with fun activities that promote and develop independent swimming from a very young age!

In our lifesaving week we will be focusing on lifesaving skills and raising money for Millies trust.

Millie's Trust was established by Joanne and Dan Thompson, following the tragic loss of their daughter Millie aged 9 months in a choking incident at nursery in October 2012.
Millie’s Trust raises awareness of paediatric first aid and provides free first aid courses to anyone responsible for a child under 12 months or is expecting. They also provide a 12-hour Paediatric course for nurseries to ensure more nursery staff becomes trained.
Following a successful petition started by Joe and Dan to change the current rules, which is that early years providers must have at least one paediatric first aider available on the premises at all times, the petition achieved over 106,000 signatories resulting in Jo and Dan attending a parliamentary debate in December 2014. As a result the pair succeeded in changing the law to get paediatric first aid kits in every ambulance and from September 2016 and ALL Childcare Level 2 and Level 3 Qualifications MUST include Paediatric First Aid - a life-saving change that will add approximately 15,000 additional trained early year’s professionals to our nurseries and pre-schools each and every year. This is the first step towards ‘Millie’s Law’, where all nursery staff will eventually be trained in paediatric first aid.
Millie’s Trust has been recognised for their campaign via various awards. Joanne Thompson won the Lorraine Inspiration Woman of the year award 2014. In July 2015, Joanne and Dan received a St John’s Ambulance Everyday Hero’s Award in recognition of the their efforts in creating awareness in first aid in the community. Then they went onto win a The Daily Mirror’s Pride of Britain Award back in September 2015.
