Story

As you may be aware, I am a keen runner and am often spotted on the Hythe canal path or along the seafront on my lunchbreak. This is all part of my #SprinksUltraChallenge which comprises a
series of ultras including 3x50km, 50 mile and 100km runs! The culmination of this challenge will be a whopping 103 mile run across the North Downs Way on the 5th August 2023.

I began running on New Year’s Day 2012, ahead of my first event, the London Marathon! A decade later, and with 17 marathon medals to boot (plus a few halves, 10 mile, 10K and 5K events), I have decided to combine my love for running with a charitable challenge. I am running to raise some funds for two worthy charities. The CCLG (Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group) did an amazing job of looking after my nephew while he was having treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. In the hope that my Ultra Challenge will generate a good amount of sponsorship, I have also chosen to run
for Folkestone Rainbow Centre which supports the homeless locally.

Times have been testing for us all and the impact on our mental health has been incredible. Financially it has been difficult too, but if you can spare any sponsorship for these causes and to keep me going, I would very much appreciate your support.

If you follow my social media, you will see some updates on my training so far. Having successfully completed the 3no 50km, 50 mile, and 100km events, I’m all the more determined to overcome
the 103 mile run and would love to take the total to at least £4000 by then. If you can help with that, you’ll also be directly impacting people’s lives. Something to be really proud of.

I hope that, in some way, the #SprinksUltraChallenge will inspire you to take good care of yourself as well as others. Be well, be charitable, go running!

With thanks,

Stuart
