Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have lost so many people, friends, family, including 3 siblings, to cancer. Cancer is a disease that can be eradicated. It needs your help and support though to get rid of this once and for all.

St Helens Now are planning a St Helens, Merseyside festival with a difference. It will be held online only. We are looking for bands/artists to donate a Christmas song. Please join in the spirit of the event.

As this is a St Helens charity event, the only criteria is that you must be from or involved in St Helens. I want to showcase what the town can do and the talent we have.

Please donate now if you want to help this cause.

Coincidentally, it is the Steve Prescott Foundation's 10th Anniversary as well as the 10th Anniversary since St Helens Now was established.

I have set an initial target of £850 between now and Christmas but this target may rise depending on the response.

If you raise donations through auctions, fund raising etc. you must donate the proceeds through this JustGiving page. St Helens Now will not handle any donations.  We will give credit on the StHelensNow.com website if you wish though.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your
details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send
unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to
the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and
cutting costs for the charity.

St Helens Now are not a registered charity and do not control your donations and everything will be sent to The Steve Prescott Foundation through this JustGiving page.

A very nice email from Linzi Prescott

Hi Barry,

Thank you for thinking of fundraising for The Steve Prescott Foundation, in the anniversary of our 10th year, organising St. Helens Now Christmas Online Fest.

The SPF is very proud of the legacy left by Stephen and the inspiration he gives to people to support his chosen charities which were close to his heart.

The donations to the SPF go to support The Christie in Manchester, the
Rugby League Benevolent Fund (Try Assist) and the SPF Special Causes
Fund. The SPF fund allows those hospitals, researchers and surgeons who deal in Pseudomyxoma related conditions and multi visceral transplantation to apply for grants to the Trustees of the SPF who will ensure sure that the money will have a direct and significant effect on people's lives.

The donations we receive really do make a difference to people’s lives.
Let me take this opportunity to wish you the very best of luck with the event.

Sincere thanks

About the charity

The Steve Prescott Foundation was set up by a totally inspirational man Steve Prescott MBE. In 2006 he was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma Peritonei a terminal cancer & sought out to raise funds for The Christie Hospital and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund. The SPF changes the lives of so many people.
