Story

In August 2016, my little sister Eliza was diagnosed with cancer.  She is 3.   I was very frightened by this as I didn't really know what it meant but I knew that Mum and Dad would be staying in hospital with her for a while. She had to take horrible medicine that would help her but also make her feel unwell too.  She came home from her first hospital stay with a tube coming out of her chest and calls this her wiggly.  The doctors use it to give her important medicine and also take blood from it when they want to check it.  It looks a bit frightening but I know its there to help. She even has a teddy with a wiggly too! It was my birthday when this was all happening and my Mum had to cancel my birthday plans. It was ok though as my classmates amazing mummies organised a party during school one day!!   It was great!  After a few weeks Eliza went back to hospital with Mum and Dad and this time she stayed a lot longer. I missed her a lot. The doctors gave her penguin milk to help her sleep whilst they took out one of her kidneys. She had a wilms tumour growing in there and the doctors managed to get that cheeky guy out. Its ok though, she has another good kidney and he works just fine.  Once Eliza was able to hop out of bed after the operation she spent a lot of time in the playroom sprinkling glitter everywhere!  There was a baby seagull on the hospital roof which Mum and Eliza kept an eye on.  I really missed Eliza when she was in hospital and it was a big shock when she came home as her beautiful long blonde hair had all gone and she had a huge bandage on her tummy.  We had been growing our hair long to donate to the little princess trust before this all happened and now it is even more important to me that I finish what we started together.   I love my really long red hair. It has taken me such a long time to grow but I want to give it to people that have lost their hair like my little sister did. Eliza wasn't too upset about loosing her hair as she said she was ready for big girl hair anyway, but I know other people will find it really hard. I am hoping that mum's friends, family, friends of friends, friends of family, and even their friends will help me raise some money to donate to Clic Sargent as they have been amazing at helping my sister and family deal with all that has been thrown at us.   They give Eliza her medicine and are on the phone to my mum and dad whenever we need them.  They even let my dad stay in the Clic Sargent house in Bristol when mum and Eliza were in Hospital.  Mum doesn't know how we would have coped without them so they must be amazing.   Eliza finished her chemotherapy last week and has an appointment to have her wiggle taken out at the end of April.  She is doing great, is full of beans and has the fluffiest hair I have ever seen.  Mum says she needs a big bath when wiggle is gone as she hasn't had one since September!!!  Please help me to help other families like mine. I want to raise lots and lots of money to give to Clic Sargent to say a BIG thank you for helping my sister.  In return for all of your fantastic donations I will give my gorgeous red ponytail to the Little Princess trust so that they can make beautiful hair pieces to cheer up other little princes and princesses like my sister.
