We Raise awareness of these cancers to support patients, carers & families

Story

After a hard fought battle, on the 8th of March 2023 we sadly lost my Dad to esophageal cancer. He was my best mate, a role model, a loving dad and husband who touched the lives of so many. In his memory, we have created this Just Giving page to raise funds to assist esophageal cancer research.

Throughout dad's struggle he still put his family and friends first. He would always be there for you regardless of how tough it got. Roy was known for his generosity and big heart. He was a true gentleman, funny, always right and full of nothing but love and kindness.

Esophageal cancer is a devastating disease that affects thousands of people every year. It is a particularly aggressive form of cancer that often goes undiagnosed until it is in its advanced stages. By supporting esophageal cancer research, we hope to improve early detection and treatment options for this disease.

All donations made in memory of my Dad will go directly to the OPA to support their vital work in assisting with esophageal cancer research and continue to support individuals and families affected by this disease. Together, we can make a difference and honor the memory of a wonderful dad who will be deeply missed.

The OPA has led the fight against oesophageal and gastric cancers for over 30 years. Our purpose is to support patients, their families and carers and raise awareness of these cancers and their prevention. Whatever stage you're at the OPA is here to help you.
