Story
Hello,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As many of you know, I lost my Mum to cancer in March 2008 and the pain my family and I have experienced since our tragic loss has made me even more determined to raise as much money as I can for Cancer Research UK. The shocking statistics of how many of us will actually get cancer along with the life altering impact this has on not only us, but our loved ones as well makes this an incredibly worthy cause.
I've completed a few running events already this year but wanted to save the opportunity to ask my friends and family for their support for this event; The Great South Run. This is the lesser known sister event of the Great North Run and takes place in Portsmouth on Sunday 25th October 2009. It's a challenging 16k (10 miles) race around Historic Portsmouth area and includes elite athletes as well as fun runners. I shall be running for Cancer Research UK for fun (a sense I only feel once I've passed the finish line) and so I'm asking for your support by getting you to dig deep in to your pockets, down the back of the sofa and into your piggy banks and donate as much money as you can spare. Your generosity and support is very much appreciated and means a huge amount to both me and Cancer Research UK.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Lots of Love,
Steph
