Story

My partner Micheal is supporting St Barnabas Hospice by doing the wing walk event on the 8th of August 2021. He will be doing the event In memory of my mum who was diagnosed terminally ill with a Brain tumor, she was told she had less than a year to live & the tumor was at stage 3 when she was diagnosed. she sadly passed away in 2011 after a short battle, In the local St Barnabas hospice, they gave my mum the vital care & support she needed in the final weeks of her life when her illness was to complex to be managed at home. My mum was able to pass away peacefully in the care of the nurses & doctors at the hospice with dignity & respect. The hospice is an independent charity that supports people with life-limiting or terminal conditions, without their support & facilities, many people wouldn't receive the end-of-life care they need at the most critical time, the care and support they give patients and families are amazing. Micheal is also raising money in memory of his friend's mum who also passed away in 2018 & she was also cared for by the hospice for her end life care.

We usually do the Colour Dash run in memory of mum but unfortunately due to the pandemic, the usual events haven't been able to run last year or this year (2021). We decided this was a good way to raise money to support the hospice this year. Any donations would be much appreciated and go towards a great cause in supporting the local hospice for the care and support they give to patients in Lincolnshire.

Barnabas Hospice who have lost around £2 million since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Any money you can donate to support me with this challenge would be greatly appreciated. You will be making a real difference to patients and families across Lincolnshire living with a life-limiting or terminal illness, ensuring St Barnabas can be there for them every day of the year. By way of example, every £14.02 raised will enable St Barnabas to provide one hour of specialist at-home care to a patient living with a life-limiting or terminal illness.
