We are team 'Thirst Place' and we are taking part in the Water Innovators Challenge 2017!

What are we doing to earn your donation?

The team will be partaking in the Bristol 10k, two 10k obstacle courses in Cardiff and Bristol (Gauntlet Games and Rough Runner) and a 50k sponsored walk.

Furthermore we are organising a number of other fundraising activities such as sports tournaments, pub quizzes, casino nights and cake sales.

What is the Water Innovators Challenge you ask?

Every year teams of 6-8 people will select one of four given challenges which are based on real water, sanitation and hygiene promotion problems faced by the WaterAid team. 

This year the challenges are based on the real life problems experienced in Nicaragua where 800,000 people don't have access to clean, safe water and two million people live without access to a decent toilet!

Who are WaterAid and what do they do?

WaterAid help the world’s poorest communities to transform their lives with clean water. 1 in 10 people don’t have access to safe water and 1 in 3 don’t have access to a decent toilet. WaterAid want a world where everyone everywhere has these basic human rights by 2030.

Which challenge have we chosen?

We have chosen the 'Water Challenge'. This will involve designing surface water intakes in unstable soils with solar pumping to remote villages!
