Story

Both my father and father in law suffered severely with dementia during their later years. Whilst very different characters, they were both driven individuals that ran and developed their farming business with great pride but were also very focussed on the the welfare of their animals, good husbandry, the care of the environment and their staff. To see these two people reduced from the men they once were in later life was so sad yet they maintained their spirits and their love of life and family until the disease made communication impossible.

The work that the Dementia charities are doing to understand the disease and bring new treatments to the market so that in the future people will not suffer in the same way as they have in the past is remarkable and a testament to the generous giving of so many people and organisations.

I, in my own small way, would like to add my support to this excellent work and I need your support to make this possible. Yes of course through your financial donations to this just giving page but also to me, through your encouragement, as I return to some level of fitness having been away from sport and regular exercise for more than 20 years!
