Someone described MacMillan as “angels” and that is exactly what they are … a support network of angels, who are rooting for you just as much as your family and friends.

25(ish) years ago I watched the MacMillan Nurses look after my grandad. They were so amazing I thought he must've just got lucky. Way back then I never for one minute thought I would have the need for my own MacMillan Care team, then at the end of 2022 that's exactly what happened...

… since December 2022 MacMillan have hugged me while I sobbed, matched my dark humor with dark humor, answered every question I've ever asked, called just to check I was doing ok and liaised with my two consultants when I was too embarrassed to admit I really wasn’t coping at all with the mental health side of surgical menopause.

MacMillan is a charity that relies solely on money raised by people like me for people like me. The LLMH 2025 is giving me the chance to start giving back to my MacMillan angels.
