Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page - Little did I know when I offered to support a friend running in the Brighton Half Marathon in February 2008 what an impact it would have on me. There I was, camera in hand, waiting to cheer on Kev (!) as he ran by, when I began to notice that many of the runners were older than me, some even looked more unfit than me, but all were doing something truly remarkable. From that moment on I vowed that I would run in 2009.
12 months of pounding the streets of Brighton & Hove followed, two and a half stones were shed, all of which resulted in a tremendous feeling of personal achievement as I crossed the finishing line. For the last year I have continued to enjoy the running experience and have completed a number of half marathons (Stratford, Nottingham, and Hastings) as well as the Great South Run in Portsmouth. Now I have set myself a new challenge of the Brighton Marathon on 18th April 2010. My hope is that some people may support me in raising money for the “Help for Heroes” charity. I find the stories of our Service Personnel truly inspiring, and feel passionately that our men and women should be supported whatever our political view points may be.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Legal and General have kindly offered to match all monies raised to a total of £750, in effect doubling your donation!
So please support me in helping support our Heroes.
