Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My father-in-law, Malcolm, started showing signs of Alzheimer's a few years ago. The speed in which it has claimed this once sharp, vibrant, life of the party type of man has been heartbreaking to witness, as has been the effect it has had on his family.

I've read recently of progress being made in the treatment of Alzheimer's and I believe if enough funding can be made available then this condition and its long-reaching effects can be eradicated for good.

To help raise money, I'm competing in the Outlaw Triathlon. This comprises of a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile cycle and a 26.2 mile run (aka a marathon!). This event takes place at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham on July 1st, 2012.

As an intermediate incentive to donate I've promised my wife, Rachael, that I would shave my beloved goatee off when donations reach £200. The "Feed The Goatee" battlecry will mean more to my fellow Manchester City fans than others though!
