We provide care and support to life-limited children in North London.

Story

On the 27th June Steve Williams starts a bike ride from Carcassonne to Barcelona for the Noahs Ark Hospice charity.

Noah’s Ark are around the corner from where Steve lives in Barnet – they provide clinical, practical and emotional support to over 310 babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families living in North and Central London and Hertsmere. Having three children of his own this is probably quite fitting.

To expand their care services to up to 1,200 children, Noah’s Ark are constructing a new hospice building, ‘The Ark’. The Ark will be a home-from-home for seriously unwell children, where they will be given the time and space to be children and not just patients.

The ride is just over 300 miles and crosses to Spain via the highest paved road in Europe (there had to be some pain). The Adroit jersey has been packed, the Garmin is charged and the tyres are pumped up….all that’s left is the peddling.

We’ll be posting updates during the ride on LinkedIn, Twitter and this blog post. For those of you that want the detail, Steve will be uploading his ride each day onto Strava. If you’re able to support him then please follow the link below. Any donation will help focus his mind when the climbing starts.

About the charity

We help babies, children and young people with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions, and their families, make the most of every day. And we support those who die young to do so in as much comfort as possible, surrounded by family.
