Story
On the last Sunday/Monday of April I'm going to walk the c34 miles from Sir Walter Scott's former home of Abbotsford House near Tweedbank to Edinburgh Waverley station (named after the novel).
The route, by rail at least, was part of the old Waverley line (now the Borders Railway line). Of course, I'm not going to compete for space with trains, so I'll be going on the road.
I'll be kept entertained en route by audiobooks of some of the author's novels, none of which I've never read before.
It's all in aid of the Scottish Book Trust's 'Bookfellas' initiative, which aims to raise money for literacy programmes and to encourage dads to get more involved in reading with and to their children.
