Luke's Stoma Stigma - The Road to Recovery

L DIPPLE is raising money for Crohn’s & Colitis UK

Stoma Stigma - The Road to Recovery · 1 July 2021

We’re the UK’s leading charity for Crohn’s and Colitis. Right now, over 500,000 people in the UK are living with a lifelong disease that many people have never heard of. We’re working to improve diagnosis and treatment; to fund research and to raise awareness.

Story

@the.boywithabag here. On June17th 2021 I woke up with my new mate Queen Celine the stoma after a life saving operation. I am campaigning to fight the stigma against young men with Stoma's and invisible illnesses to prove that disability doesn't mean that you are not able. I have been given a few months to recover and I am spending this at my parents house, in these two months I plan to cycle on an exercise bike 161km which will take me home to Manchester UK. With friends across the country we are all going to do 161Km in a bid to raise as much money for Crohn's and Colitis UK a charity that helps so many people and allowed me to get this bag to keep me going. I will be the last one to arrive so I'll do my best Chris Hoy across the finish line. See you in Manchester! Ps photo does not include the bike, no matter how realistic it looks.
