I am looking to raise money for the Beatson Cancer Charity. This is part of a wider charity effort by my friend Paul Sheerin. Paul is doing a huge amount of fund raising which you can read about on his own page:  https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/paul-sheerin4 . The high-level is that Paul is doing 12 fund raisers in 12 months. This is to commemorate Paul turning 40. This hill climb is the planned activity for the month of October and Paul had asked for some company when doing this walk.

Paul shares a few things in common with my wife Jane. Jane and Paul have both been cancer patients at the Beatson. The Beatson helped care for both of them when they were patients. They both now work for the Beatson Cancer Charity. It's certainly been a very special place that has helped Jane and our family. Indeed my elder son Callum is also taking part in this walk. Callum also volunteers at the Beatson cafe, and my younger son Matthew helps fund raise for the charity.

This fund raising ties in with Paul's 40th birthday. It is also closely aligned to the 10th anniversary of Jane's initial diagnosis. I am just trying to give a little bit back to help support the charity that has helped us. I'd also like to praise Paul and Jane for the way they now give back to help at the charity; after coming through some very tough times.
