Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

On the 22nd of september 2013 i am  abseiling down the clock tower at the trafford centre in manchester . The reason for this is my 7yr old daughter abigail. She was diagnosed with TYPE 1 DIABETES 4 years ago and i am raising money to try and help find a cure. This is something that means alot to us and many other familys. As every day more children are diagnosed with this condition.

Living with diabetes is not easy and not many people are aware of just how much work goes into looking after someone with type 1 diabetes. Every day (and night) is a struggle trying to keep blood sugars under control. Abigail has recently been given an insulin pump to help her have a better quality of life and so far its making life a lot easier. No more daily injections for a start... None of this would be possible without people donating and helping to raise money for research. Doing this abseil is my way of trying to give something back for the help my daughter receives. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and helping me to raise whatever I can for daibetes UK.
