Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having booked to take part in this event. I am just so excited about completing this challenge.
Over the past seventeen years I have taken part in several charity challenge events. I have trekked in the Himalayas raising funds for Mencap, I completed a Trekathon from Winchester Cathedral to Salisbury Cathedral for Help for Heroes. I have trekked from Siem Reap, Cambodia to Angkor Wat, I have run the Great South Run in Portsmouth for the British Heart Foundation and I have also abseiled down the Senate Library Tower in London to raise funds for St. Mungo's. So you can see that I enjoy these challenges and have done this sort of event before.
Having booked and paid for my accommodation and flights, etc myself ensures that all the monies donated go to Hostage UK.
I heard about the good work done by Hostage UK at a series of lectures given by Terry Waite CBE which I attended while on a family holiday.
smoothly return to the workplace. Hostage UK also helps organisations respond effectively to the human aspects of kidnap by
running educational seminars and bespoke training. They also discreetly advocate for improved public and private policy and practice about family support and hostage re-integration.
So please donate as much as you can afford to Hostage UK to enable them to continue to help both the hostage and their family to cope with being victims of kidnap.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Please note this is in an independent fundraising project, which Intrepid Travel have neither paid for nor sponsored. I will simply be using my tour with them as a vehicle for raising awareness of and money for Hostage UK.
